Brentford 0 – Birmingham City 0
A well-earned point on the road against automatic promotion chasing Brentford enhanced Blues chances of beating the drop.
Birmingham City 1 – Swansea 0
A massive three points for Blues in a match high on endeavour but low on quality.
Birmingham City 2 – Reading 1
Proper Blues are back. Fight and commitment won the three points here against a technically better Reading side who, though dominating possession, particularly in the second half, didn’t really trouble Etheridge unduly.
Birmingham City 0 – Bristol City 3
A horror of a performance from Blues, as Bristol City had to do very little to run out easy winners at the Trillion Trophies etc. Change is clearly needed, and it needs to come soon. If it doesn’t we’re going down, as simple as that.
Huddersfield Town 1 – Birmingham City 1
Honours even in a game desperately short on quality from both teams. The usual Frazer Campbell goal was cancelled out minutes later by a Marc Roberts blast from two yards after a Sanchez corner. Apart from that, and a little bit of Halilvoic and Bela, this was instantly forgettable stuff.
Birmingham City 2 – QPR 2
Saturday 27 February, a momentous day for Birmingham City. Ten years to the day since the best day I’ve had as a Blues’ supporter and one of the best in my life. While this unlikely turnaround win clearly isn’t on a par, there’s something about 2-1 wins on this particular date that suits Blues.
Birmingham City 1 – Norwich 3
It all ended in a bit of a whimper, but for long stretches of this game Blues were the most likely as they gave the league leaders a much tougher game than anyone, myself included, had expected.
Birmingham City 0 – Luton Town 1
For some reason, I had a strange feeling of optimism before the match, I thought that today could be the day we turned our season round. I was wrong.
Birmingham City 1 – Coventry City 1
Well, we didn’t lose at home, so that’s an improvement.
Birmingham City 0 – Preston North End 1
Sod and sodden. Blues still can’t buy a win at St Andrews as Preston got the three points in a game that we probably didn’t deserve to lose, but did as a result of a ropey fifteen minutes after half-time.
